Christian has fast become a well-respected racehorse trainer, from the days of excelling as a jockey aboard some of the greats, including the mighty Denman. A frequent visitor to the winner’s enclosure and having ridden more than 100 winners for Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls and the same for Welsh Trainer Evan Williams, Christian had a highly successful riding career and is now repeating his successes as a trainer.
Christian’s yard, Ogmore Farm, is based on the out-skirts of the coastal Ogmore by Sea in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan. It is a beautiful and tranquil place to train and Christian utilises the natural surroundings of the beach, the dunes and the river as well as a very hands on, select and holistic approach to train his racehorses.
In his first season he trained a very respectable 27 winners, before landing the Welsh Grand National with stable stalwart, Potters Corner in just his second season.
